THE HEALTHY WAY TO TRAVEL

Travel tips to help you arrive at your destination feeling at your best

ON THE GROUND

The day before you fly, try to avoid: HEAVY MEALS - ALCOHOL - CAFFEINE
to add to your comfort: WEAR LOOSE FITTING CLOTHES - APPLY A MOISTURISER
DRINK PLENTY OF WATER

IN THE AIR

Drink plenty of water, available from the bar, and
avoid excessive amounts of alcohol and caffeine.
Long-haul customers, try inflight exercises and relaxation techniques.

TRY THESE GENTLE STRETCHES TO HELP YOU STAY COMFORTABLE:

* keep heels on the floor pointing toes upward - hold this stretch for five seconds

* with feet back on the floor, wiggle toes

* rotate right foot to the right - hold for five
seconds rotate to the left and hold - repeat
this with the left foot

* lift your ankles, resting on the balls of the
feet, with your right foot slowly rotate your ankle clockwise, four or five times - repeat
with left foot and do the same exercise
rotating anti-clockwise

* one leg at the time, hold and support your
knee, slowly raise leg to comfortable position
and hold fo 10 seconds - repeat with other
leg

* place knees together and draw them in tightly, pressing thighs in and holding for
five seconds - repeat the exercise once

* grip the end of your armrest, holding for five
seconds and then relaxing repeat four times

* relax your shoulders - roll them in a gentle
circular motion repeat five times

* gently lean head to one side, count to five
and then repeat to the other side move chin
slowly into your chest - hold for five second and then repeat the sequence five times

* close your eyes and breathe in deeply
through your nose, resting your hands
in your lap and drawing the breathe deep
into your body - hold for five seconds
breathe out through your mouth - repeat
three times

We also advise standing up and taking a brief walk around the cabin,
ideally every two hours, where appropriate.

TOUCH DOWN

After a long journey, gentle exercise such as a walk is a good idea to stimulate the circulation.
